Sign language is not just a unique means of communication for the deaf, it has now become an integral part of their lives. With its help, the deaf are now enjoying YouTube content, movies and sports competitions as well. Through sign language, these youth are making their voices heard across the world.

Naiduniya Representative, Bilaspur. At present 95 students are studying in the school for deaf and dumb situated in Bilaspur Tifra. Teacher and sign language expert Pradeep Sharma says that in sign language deaf children are mainly taught alphabets. He says that in every country and every region there is some difference in sign language, not all are same. Whereas, alphabets are almost same everywhere. Pradeep Sharma says that even after school level education there is provision of education for them, like study of fine arts (BFA) or general BA, computer etc. He also says that today internet has brought revolutionary changes in their life.

The city's deaf youth Saumya Shekhar Tiwari, while talking to the Naiduniya team with the help of sign language, explained that he likes watching news a lot. For this, he takes the help of YouTube. He opened YouTube on his phone and told that now there are many content creators who are creating their content using sign language. Sign language has made digital platforms more accessible and useful for him.
Sign language is also being used in sports
Soumya says that he uses subtitles to watch movies. For things that he does not understand, he watches sign language explanations. He says that he watches the summary of the entire match of cricket, football and other sports in sign language. He also says that he talks to his friends through internet media like WhatsApp and Instagram on video calls every day through sign language.
