The magic of 'Tumbbad' continues at the box office
Tumbbad Box-Office: In this era of re-release, Soham Shah and Rahi Anil Barve's film Tumbbad has emerged as the biggest money earner in Hindi cinema. The film has so far earned more than its first release, and despite new releases this week like Jr NTR's Devara, is still holding strong in the third weekend.
Crowd in theaters despite being on OTT
Tumbbad has achieved its cult status, and it is now clearly visible in the theaters that people are coming in large numbers to watch this film on the big screen, while the film is already available on OTT. The film has earned Rs 24.50 crore in two weeks of its re-release.
Tremendous surge on third Saturday
The film earned Rs 55 lakh on third Friday, which was a big drop from Thursday's earning of Rs 90 lakh, but on Saturday it showed a huge jump and earned Rs 95 lakh. In this way, the total box office collection of re-release of Tumbbad has become Rs 26 crore, while overall the film has earned Rs 39.5 crore till now (including both the first and re-release).
Soham Shah's sequel announced, but the director is out
Tumbbad lead actor and producer Sohum Shah has announced the sequel of the film, but director Rahi Anil Barve is not associated with the film this time as he is busy with other projects like Gulkand Tales, starring Pankaj Tripathi, Kunal Kemmu, and Abhishek Banerjee is in the lead role. Raj and DK are producing it. Apart from this, Rahi Anil Barve has recently announced his new film Rakta Universe, starring Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Ali Fazal, and Wamiga Gabbi, which is also being produced by Raj and DK.
Story of making of Tumbbad
Tumbbad is based on a story narrated by Rahi Anil Barve's friend in 1993, and written by Marathi writer Narayan Dharap. This film had to face a lot of struggles in making, but finally this film was released in 2018.
Rising expectations of sequel
The success of Tumbbad has also started discussions about the sequel of the film. There is a lot of excitement among the audience about the sequel, and it is expected that the second part of the film can achieve even bigger success.
