Amitabh Bachchan's real birthday is on 11 October, when he was born in 1942 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. His father Harivansh Rai Bachchan was a famous poet of Hindi literature, and his mother Teji Bachchan was also active in social work. But, Big B's second birthday is celebrated on 2nd August, which is another important day in his life. His fans also consider this day as the 'day of rebirth', because on this day he defeated death.
Fatal accident on the sets of Coolie
This incident happened in 1982, when Amitabh Bachchan was shooting the film 'Coolie'. On July 24, during an action scene in Bengaluru, he was accidentally punched by Puneet Issar in the stomach, due to which his condition became critical. This injury was so deep that he was immediately taken to the hospital, where he had to undergo multiple surgeries. After this he was shifted to Bridge Candy Hospital in Mumbai, but his health was not improving.
Big B returned after defeating death
Doctors had described Amitabh's condition as critical, and there came a time when he was declared dead. But on August 2, a miracle happened, when Big B suddenly moved his thumb, and after that his health gradually started improving. During this time, along with his family, lakhs of fans prayed for his well-being. Ultimately, he was discharged from the hospital on 24 September, and when he returned home, thousands of fans were present outside the hospital to welcome him.

After this incident, Amitabh Bachchan had told his fans outside the hospital, “It was a terrible ordeal between life and death. The two-month hospital stay and fight with death is over. Now I am returning to my home after conquering death.”
