the sabarmati report movie review: The film The Sabarmati Report has hit the theatres. The film had come into controversy after the trailer launch of the film. The film's actor Vikrant Massey deepened the controversy by giving a statement that he was receiving continuous threats after the trailer launch. Vikrant also said that the whole world knows about the riots that took place in Gujarat on 28 February, but what happened in the Sabarmati Express just a day before that. This truth is not known yet. This film brings the same truth. However, this statement of Vikrant is partially correct. Many reports have already revealed the truth as to whether the fire in Sabarmati Express was an accident or a planned plan. This conspiracy was also brought to light in the film Accident or Conspiracy Godhra Chapter, released on July 19 this year. In such a situation, The Sabarmati Report is unable to add anything to this sensitive issue. Which is new. Along with this, due to the flaws in the screenplay, the film has also remained weak at the emotional level, which was the biggest need of this film.

Story of Godhra incident from media perspective

In the year 2002, on the morning of 27 February, two bogies of Sabarmati Express were set on fire at a short distance from Godhra Railway Station in Gujarat because there were kar sevaks coming from Ayodhya, in which 59 people were burnt alive. . This film is based on the same incident, but the story is told from the media's point of view. Talking about the screenplay of this film, Samar (Vikrant Massey), working on the film beat in a big news channel, was sent as a cameraman along with the channel's star journalist Manika Rajpurohit (Riddhi Dogra) in the train fire near Godhra. goes. Where he himself records the statements of some victims, but the price of truth has already been determined by the star journalist of his channel. In such a situation, Samar has to pay a heavy price. Everything is taken away from him and the story moves forward by five years. Because of Nana Commission, the issue of Godhra once again comes into discussion. Manika decides to create a new story to save her name, for which she sends trainee Amrita (Rashi Khanna) to Godhra, but Amrita gets hold of the footage taken by Samar. Will Amrita find out the truth? . How does she involve Samar in this again? Will Samar be able to reveal the truth about Godhra along with Manika Rajpurohit. This is the story ahead.

Advantages and disadvantages of the film

The first part of the film focuses on the Godhra incident and the hiding of that horrific incident by the media. The second part of the film investigates to find this truth, the first part of the film is fine. The story slows down in the second part. The story and screenplay of the film remains weak. Which has not done justice to the theme of this film. The film Godhra, released in the same year, had shown its story in detail on this subject, although due to lack of resources that film could not become effective, but that film had brought out the truth of Godhra in complete detail. Apart from this, so much is now available on this subject in the public domain that The Sabarmati Report is unable to bring anything like this to light. Which surprises. The climax of the film has also been weak. The film also raises questions on the functioning of the media. It also shows the battle of Hindi vs English, but at times the film moves away from the issue and appears to be a fight for supremacy between two journalists. Along with showing the discord between two communities, an attempt has also been made to balance it by showing communal unity in the film. Apart from Rajaram, nothing seems effective in the songs and music of the film. The cinematography and dialogues of the film do justice to the theme. We do.

Another amazing performance by Vikrant Massey

Vikrant Massey has become that name of acting, who can easily adapt to any character. In this film too, he seems to be completely settled in his character. His struggle to bring out the truth is visible in every scene on screen. Riddhi Dogra has done justice to his character. He has beautifully highlighted the negative shades with his acting. Raashi Khanna has also done justice to the character of a trainee journalist.
