In an interview, Arshad described Prabhas' character as a joker, which his fans and some celebs of the South Industry did not like at all.
What did Arshad Warsi say?
In an interview given on YouTube channel Unfiltered by Samdish, Arshad compared Kalki 2898 AD with films like Mad Max. He said that he would have liked to see an actor like Mel Gibson in such films. In his statement, Arshad said, I saw Kalki, but I did not like her. Amit ji's work was amazing, I could not believe it. Talking about Prabhas, Arshad said, I felt very sad, but why was he like Joker? I wanted to see Mad Max there, I wanted to see Mel Gibson there.
Fans expressed their displeasure
After this statement of Arshad, he got a lot of backlash on social media. Fans and some celebs felt that he had made fun of Prabhas's acting. This statement was very distasteful especially to the audience of South Industry.
Arshad's clarification: I did not question Prabhas's acting.
After the backlash, Arshad Warsi clarified his statement. He said that his comment was taken wrongly. While talking to PTI, Arshad clarified that his intention was not to insult Prabhas's acting. He said, I had only talked about the character, not the actor. Prabhas is a brilliant actor, he has proved himself time and again.
