Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has announced to celebrate 'Tribal Pride Day' in every district of Chhattisgarh on November 15, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to celebrate Tribal Pride Day on November 15 in the memory of Lord Birsa Munda. This year is the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. It will be celebrated grandly in Chhattisgarh also. The Chief Minister was today addressing a one-day workshop organized on the topic 'Glorious past, historical, social and spiritual contribution of tribal society' at New Circuit House in the capital Raipur. Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap presided over the program. MLA Bhaiyalal Rajwade was present in the program as a special guest.

The Chief Minister said that the tribal society has a glorious history. It is a matter of pride to think that many great freedom fighters were born in tribal societies. The tradition of fighting for one's country has been there in the tribal society since the beginning. Many great heroes like Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, Gand Singh, Gundadhoor sacrificed their lives. The Chief Minister said that the entire world is today going through serious challenges of climate change. In such a situation, conservation of nature is very important. Tribal society has shown us the path of conservation of nature, which is exemplary even today. Nature is worshiped in tribal society. In Eastern Chhattisgarh, Sarhul festival is celebrated when the Sal tree flowers.

The Chief Minister said that there is deep spirituality hidden in the tribal culture. By saving nature, living a nature-friendly life. There is no discrimination of any kind between men and women. Everyone is equal and nature's gift is for everyone. We need to learn these things from this society. In fact, the art of living life should be learned from the tribal society. Social evil like dowry does not exist in tribal society. The bravery of Lord Birsa Munda always shows us the path of courage in life. He dreamed of an exploitation free society. As per his vision, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tried to bring prosperity in the lives of people belonging to special backward tribes by starting the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana. The Prime Minister will launch the Pradhan Mantri Tribal Unnat Gram Abhiyan from Hazaribagh tomorrow, in which more than 5 crore people of 63 thousand tribal dominated villages will benefit.

The Chief Minister said that tribal people never show off, their simplicity fascinates the mind. The eating style of the tribal society keeps them away from lifestyle related diseases like BP and sugar. He expressed hope that this workshop organized by the Higher Education Department on 'Glorious Past of Tribal Society' will prove to be a milestone in bringing the pride of tribal society in front of the entire society.

Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, while presiding over the program, said that the tribal society has made a huge contribution in the country's freedom struggle. Many great men were born in this society who started the struggle against the British even before the 1857 revolution. During the freedom struggle, the British suffered huge losses in the tribal areas and on many occasions they were forced to retreat. Kashyap said that when the British started the work of laying the railway line in Bastar, wood was used in it. The tribal society opposed this and expressed the feeling that no one will cut our forest. Much was preserved due to social solidarity. He said that the event being organized today will help in conveying the story of pride of the tribal society recorded in the pages of history to our future generations. He said that Bastar Dussehra is the biggest proof of social harmony. 80 percent of the families in this society are joint families. There is a need to learn many things from the tribal society like the use of millet, organic farming etc.

Welcome speech by Prasanna R., Secretary, Higher Education Department. Gave. Vaibhav Surange, All India Youth Work Head of Vanvasi Vikas Samiti, highlighted in detail the contribution of the tribal society in the freedom struggle. He said that there are many progressive traditions in tribal culture. They do not ask anything from God. Dr. Anurag Jain, Secretary of Vanvasi Development Committee, said that there is a need to acquaint the new generation with the contribution of the unsung great heroes of the tribal society. Provincial President of Vanvasi Vikas Samiti Umesh Kashyap, Vice Chancellor of the University and a large number of enlightened citizens were present in the program. On this occasion, the guests including the Chief Minister visited the exhibition focusing on the freedom fighters of the tribal society.
