Janjgir- Champa. Investors who have invested in chit fund companies have been protesting for the last 22 days near the hockey ground of Janjgir district headquarters, demanding the implementation of Buds Act 2019 in the state. On the 22nd day of the movement, on Sunday, investors held a jail bharo movement under the banner of fraud victim depositor unit CG. A large number of victim depositors participated in it. When the agitators moved towards the police station from the protest site, the police stopped them by putting up barricades near Barrister Bhawan on Kera Road. During this, five hundred men and women surrendered. Later, all were released on bail by the Tehsildar. During this, the victim investors also submitted a memorandum to the Tehsildar regarding their demand in the name of the Prime Minister.

Demand to implement Buds Act 2019

Investors who had invested in various chit fund companies were protesting for the last 22 days near the hockey ground of Janjgir, the district headquarters, demanding the return of the money lost in the chit fund and the implementation of Buds Act 2019. A call for Jail Bharo Andolan was given on Sunday, the 22nd day of the movement. Apart from Janjgir Champa district, aggrieved investors from Sakti, Balodabazar and Bilaspur districts participated in this movement in large numbers.

Memorandum submitted to the Prime Minister

In the memorandum submitted to the Prime Minister, it is written that in the year 2019, the government had made the Irregular Deposit Schemes Prohibition Act (BUDS Act 2019) guaranteeing the payment of the lost deposits to the fraud victims of the country, in which the government and the Parliament had promised to pay the fraud victims two to three times their deposit amount in 180 days. This law was made to pay the investors of all those companies and societies, firms, funds, non-banking companies etc. whose deposits have not been returned to them. Even after the formation of the government in many states, no victim has been paid.

The movement will continue even further

Advocate Shivnarayan Karsh, Advisor of the fraud victim depositor unit of CG, said that after the sit-in demonstration, a jail bharo movement was organized on Sunday. Their movement will not end now, the sit-in demonstration will continue. After that, the movement will be made more aggressive as per the instructions received from their central organization.
