barun sobti: After television, actor Barun Sobti has also become a popular face of OTT platform. Barun Sobti's web series Raat Jawaan Hai is currently streaming on OTT platform Sony Liv. Barun is seen in the role of Avinash in this story of new parents. Barun describes himself as different from Avinash's character, but he admits that the challenges of new parents are almost the same. Is this the best phase of your career?

This is the best phase of my career. I will also agree to this, but all this has happened automatically. I did not plan anything because if I had to plan something, I would have done it long ago, but there are some things which are in the hands of time and luck. How the society is changing. All these things matter. Only after that the cinema and the characters also evolve.

Which project has been the turning point for you?

I think this is the change that has come in my career. He must have brought the demon. After seeing my work in it, people might have thought that this guy can also act. Before that, I was popular for my television shows, but I am also good at acting. People probably did not believe this. For them I was just a good looking actor.

What was the reason for saying yes to Raat Jawaan Hai?

Nowadays most of the intense shows are running on OTT. This was a very light hearted show. This is what appealed to me the most and the show is very well written.

How much do you connect with the character of Avinash because in your personal life you are also a father?

Avinash is very different from me but yes, what are the challenges of a new parent. I also understand this because I am also a father.

What a good father you are?

I think everyone considers themselves a good father. I guess I'm not such a good father. In our industry, work is not scheduled as much as it should be so that you can give so much time to your work and so much time to home. In such a situation, you have to keep it simple that when you are at home, give all your time to your family and children and if you are outside, then focus your entire attention on shooting. Well, one good thing that happened to me was that my My daughter was born during lockdown, so I spent a lot of time with her. When my son was born, I was not on the shooting even at that time. I joined shooting after he was five months old, so I spent time with my children.

It is often said that shooting with small children is the most difficult, did you face this during the series?

Yes, it is true that shooting with children is not easy. My child who is portrayed in the series was 1 year old. Such small children do not understand what is happening. Many times I felt very bad. Well, the unit of this series was very good. We did everything according to the children. If the children were in a bad mood, we would change their shirts and shoot something else. If the child is in a good mood then we have to give the shot. (laughs) You will also go to the washroom later.

Last year you received Filmfare's OTT Award for Kohra, how much has this changed the outlook of the industry?

I don't think the industry's perspective changes after seeing the awards. I think the industry's perspective changes after seeing your work. As I am working. I feel that due to this, people's attitude towards me is also changing.

Is it still open for television?

If something with limited episodes comes, I would like to do television but I cannot do a daily show. The writing becomes very bad after some time in the daily show. At this stage of my career, I would like to be associated with such a project in which everything is written from beginning to end. The story and characters should not be negative or positive on the basis of TRP. Whatever I like. I join that project. Otherwise I refuse.

Your upcoming projects?

I am going to shoot the show together soon. After that Kohra 2 will be shot. Asur 3 is still in the writing stage. ,
