You play the role of a mother in Raat Jawaan Hai?
I became a mother in my very second show. Even when I did Kulfi Kumar Bajewale, people told me that a 24-year-old girl is becoming the mother of a 6-year-old girl. The story was the same that she had become pregnant in college at the age of 18. Due to which he was being completely justified. Well, if the role is good then I am ready to become the mother of a 20 year old girl. That's why I said yes to Raat Jawaan Hai. By the way, I got training in the same show itself on how to act with patience with children, so that has come in handy here too. By the way, she is playing the role of my daughter in this series. She is a two and a half year old girl. She was very sweet and gentle. Sumit, Khyati and Vicky are the directors and writers of this series. The special thing is that all three of them have become new parents. Because of which he knew how to deal with children better. which helped me too
Sumit Vyas is making his debut as a direct director with this series?
Sumit has had a good experience. He has an understanding of life. He is an amazing actor. Is a writer. We all know this, but that director is also amazing. During the shooting of this series, all of us became his fans. The best thing was that he never let his acting skills dominate during his direction. He is a very complicated person. He was acting as a director on the set.
You have two other actors in the show, Barun Sobti and Priya Bapat. Do they challenge you to do better?
I think I have faced the biggest pressure in my life. In the love story of Rocky and Rani, all the legend actors of the industry were there and I had scenes with all of them, so that fear of mine was gone right there. We must say that both Priya and Varun are much senior actors than me. He has more life experiences than me. I have been in the industry for 8 years, but this new journey of mine has just started. My career is still building. Well, I enjoyed his company a lot. Barun is not as serious as he looks. By the way, along with saying this, I would also like to tell that I believe that the better the actor you have in front of you. You will also perform equally well.
You started your career with television, then became a part of films and now OTT. Did you take this decision after thinking?
My mother was against my acting career. The industry was not our contact so they were afraid that they would not get any work. At the age of 21-22, I went to acting school with my mother and I told my mother that I had arranged for my fees. Just give me a few years. If I don't become an actor by the age of 25, I will do something else. I was lucky that I got my first job at the age of 24. At the age of 28, I also got Rocky Rani. I feel like I am in the right place because God is making his own way.
Are your priorities going to be OTT and films now?
I don't want to limit myself in anything. People had already asked after the first show that from where will he get another show. In the first show, she was cast only for her obesity, but after 3 months, I got the second show, Kulfi Kumar Baje Wala. After that people said that she will not appear in films.
Rocky Rani was found again. Even after that people did not shut their mouths. People said that I will not get a leading role and now I am doing a leading role in Raat Jawaan Hai. After this, I have a very important role in the Dabba Cartel that is coming. I think people's job is to speak. we have to keep doing our work
Has the industry's perception regarding your looks changed?
It has not changed, but efforts are being made slowly. Whatever show I have got for the first time. He met me just by looking at my looks. My first show in television I got was Dhai Kilo Ka Prem. Which was my size only. That character was similar to my look in Rocky Rani. It was the same in the web show also. Yes, whatever I am getting after that is not because of my looks but because of what I have proved myself as an actor. Getting it because of him. My character in Raat Jawaan Hai is not concerned about my size. Kulfi Kumar did not get me the job because of my body. I also want to tell people that do not look at the actor's body, but look at his ability.
How have things changed after the love story of Rocky and Rani?
It has changed a lot. People's attitude has changed. My reach has increased. That film has given me a new and special identity. Casting directors say that now if we suggest you for a role, the producing director knows you. They don't have to tell who Anjali Anand is. What work has he done?
What are your future plans regarding your career?
Your marketing is important. I have hired a good team who can do this for me. You also have to take pressure from social media because people say that somewhere or the other it also plays an important role in your casting. If this doesn't happen, I will delete my Instagram account tomorrow, but that is also necessary right now. By the way, my followers have gradually increased. After Rocky Rani, my followers increased, but the biggest number came with Kulfi Kumar Baje Wala because it was the number one show.
Can you ever lose a lot of weight for a film?
I would like to tell you that I eat very healthy. I also go to the gym, but my body is such that it has no effect. Well, if I get a very good role, I would like to work hard and become thin for a short time.
Ranveer Singh recently became a father, did you congratulate him by calling or meeting him?
After doing Raaj Jawaan Hai, I have understood that when someone becomes a new parent, they should not be disturbed so quickly. When he returns to work, I will meet him and congratulate him. Right now I think he would be busy changing diapers. I met my best friend 6 months after her delivery, because I know that the first 6 months are very hectic, so now Ranveer and Deepika should give time to their baby girl.
