Dr. Aastha Dayal, Director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of CK Birla Hospital, Gurugram, has given some important information related to the causes of fatigue after sex and ways to deal with it. So let us know from experts, some important things about this (fatigue after sex).

1. Hormones

During sex, the body releases many types of hormones, such as oxytocin, endorphin and dopamine, which completely relax your body. Oxytocin is known as the cuddle hormone, which helps your body feel relaxed and reduces stress. Due to increase of oxytocin in the body, you may feel tired and sleepy.

2. Physical activity

Generally, people are very physically active during sexual activity. Especially when you get intense, it works like a good exercise for the body. According to a study published in Plas One in 2013, a 25-minute session of foreplay and intercourse helps burn approximately 69 calories. Just like exercise, your body may feel tired after a long sex session.

During sexual activity, the body sweats and fluid comes out. If you drank water long before sexual activity, you may feel dehydrated during this time. Due to which one experiences fatigue.

4. Drunk Sex

If you are having sex under the influence of alcohol, it affects your sex drive. It can also cause fatigue. Always avoid drunk sex, because it not only causes fatigue but also increases the chances of unwanted pregnancy.

5. Some health conditions may also be responsible

In women, anemia, thyroid disorder, obesity, etc. can cause physical fatigue after sex. In case of anemia, sufficient oxygen does not reach the body, due to which one feels tired after participating in physical activities. Whereas thyroid disorder generally causes fatigue. It can deplete the body significantly after participating in physical activities.

6. Some other factors can also cause fatigue

For many women, sex can cause emotional exhaustion, it's not just the physical connection, it's also the emotional connection. Apart from this, having sex at midnight or late night can affect people's sleep, due to which they also feel tired. Not taking breaks during long sex sessions, or being under too much stress regarding sexual performance can also lead to feeling physically tired.

If a woman continues to feel tired for hours or until the next day, it may be a sign of a physical problem. Especially anemia and thyroid disorder. 1. Drink adequate amount of water: After sex, the body usually becomes dehydrated, so drink appropriate amount of water to hydrate it again.

2. Relax the body: Give your body time to rest after sex. Listen to your body and allow it to rest as much as it needs.

3. Get enough sleep: Having sex late at night affects sleep which can cause fatigue, hence have sex at the right time and give your body a healthy sleep of 7 to 9 hours. This keeps you completely fresh the next day.

4. Give time to foreplay: Generally people start doing intermediate courses straight away, due to which the body may get exhausted. That is why during sexual activity, take breaks in between and do foreplay, this gives your body a chance to rest.

5. Healthy diet is important: Lack of energy in the body can make you tired during sexual activity. Take protein, fat and carbohydrates, this will help in maintaining energy in your body.
