He told that having yellow brown discoloration in the eye means that the sclera and conjunctiva gets covered. People who are exposed to a lot of dust and soil have to face conjunctival balanosis. In this the white part of the eye starts appearing yellow (pale eyes). Dust and allergies cause yellowness due to increased pigment deposits in the white part of the eye.

1. Symptoms of Jaundice

Regarding this, ophthalmologist Dr. Anurag Narula explains that when there is too much bilirubin in the blood, it starts seeping into the tissues around the blood vessels. This leaking bilirubin turns your skin and the whites of your eyes yellow. This yellow color is a common symptom of jaundice.

2. Dust, Soil and Sun Exposure

Due to prolonged exposure to sunlight, the effect of sun rays increases and the pigment deposit in the yellow part of the eye starts increasing rapidly. Due to this the color of the eyes starts appearing yellow. In such a situation, wear UV protected sun glasses and get allergy treatment done so that yellowness can be avoided. Additionally, riders can also wear glasses to avoid sun exposure. Maintain eye hygiene and wash eyes with water after coming from outside.

3. Risk of liver related disease

Yellowness appears in the eyes of people suffering from hepatitis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. Actually, cancer reduces the liver's ability to produce bilirubin. Due to this, yellow substance starts forming when red blood cells break down in the body. In such a situation, apart from yellow eyes, fatigue, itching and digestive problems start increasing.

4. Gallbladder problem

Dr. Anurag Narula explains that gallbladder or cholecystitis obstructs the bile ducts, due to which bilirubin starts accumulating and aggravates the problem. Due to this the white part of the eyes turns yellow. Apart from this, one has to face chills, stomach ache and fever.

5. Consumption of medicines

People who take certain medications, including penicillin, birth control pills, chlorpromazine, anabolic steroids, and acetaminophen. Yellowness also starts appearing in their eyes. Actually, due to continuous consumption of medicines one has to face discoloration in the eyes. In such a situation, definitely contact a doctor.

6. Victim of infection

Viral infections such as hepatitis A, B, C, D and E can cause jaundice. In fact, malaria, an infectious disease spread by the bite of infected mosquitoes, can also cause jaundice. Due to this also the risk of yellow eyes increases.

Tips to avoid yellow eyes

Protect your eyes and wear UV protected sunglasses before going out in the sun. Take care of hygiene. When you reach home, wash your eyes and use the medicine prescribed by the doctor.

Consume Vitamin A rich foods. For this, consume carrots, watermelon, sweet potatoes, green leafy vegetables and eggs and dessert products in your diet. Apart from this, consumption of fish is also beneficial for the eyes.

Contact a doctor and get the problem checked. This can prevent the problem of yellow eyes from increasing. Also, get your checkup done from time to time.
